Beth Cordingly

Beth Cordingly (born 24 October 1976, Brighton) is a British actress most famous for her role as PC Kerry Young in TV police drama The Bill.

Prior to this, she had appeared in the soap opera, Family Affairs as troubled teenager Sara Warrington — a lapdancer who blew most of her wages on cocaine. Beth started out in theatre, playing roles in adaptions of Othello and Noel Coward's Semi-Monde. At secondary school, Brighton and Hove High School, she was well known for her lead roles in plays, and her enthusiasm for acting and singing. Cordingly's real name is Rebecca, and she used to date fellow actor Daniel MacPherson who also appeared in The Bill at the same time as she did. Cordingly is a supporter of ChildLine and Amnesty International and recently ran the London Marathon. Her father, David Cordingly, is a world-renowned expert on pirates and has written books and appeared in numerous documentaries on the subject.

Cordingly's character in The Bill was killed in October 2004 after being shot by PC Gabriel Kent. The actress then went on to appear as a stripper in the comedy series Funland in 2005, in it she performed her first nude scenes.
